Description
Brief report description
The conditions created in the USA for the development of the cellular mobile communications market (SPS) allowed this market to become one of the largest in the world, as well as leading in the introduction of advanced SPS technologies: earlier - the first (1G) and second generations (2G) of the ATP, and now - the third (3G) and fourth generation (4G) ATP.
One of the key factors that played an important role in the establishment and development of the cellular communications market in the USA, creating (maintaining) a competitive environment in this market, and also contributing to (and contributing to) the fastest coverage of the entire country with modern cellular communications networks, is the liberal model Federal Communications Commission (FCC) activity of the US regulatory authority for the allocation of the radio frequency spectrum in the interests of the mobile market participants.
The present analytical study was carried out on the instructions of the Association of Regional Telecommunications Operators with the aim of analyzing and summarizing the best practices in regulating the use of the radio frequency spectrum in the United States in the mass cellular mobile communications bands.
The study analyzed the authorization procedures in the United States in the allocation of radio frequency spectrum in the ranges of mass cellular mobile communications based on auctions, studied the territorial division of the United States used in the licensing of frequencies to provide cellular mobile communications services, and also carried out a generalized analysis of all held and planned auctions for frequencies in the mass cellular communication bands (700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2100 MHz) and in new bands intended for the introduction of promising technologies Mobile broadband (2300 MHz, 2500 MHz).
The study used official materials of the FCC Commission, which are published on its Internet portal (www.fcc.gov), as well as a number of other sources.
