Description
During the period from 2008 to 2012, veneer sales in the world increased by 9%: from 11.3 million m3 to 12.3 million m3. During the period under review, sales of veneer showed stable growth compared to previous years, with the exception of the crisis year 2009.
Traditionally, the largest sales of veneer are in China. The share of China in the volume of natural sales in 2008-2012 changed from 25.9% in 2008 to 23.7% in 2012. The demand for veneer gradually increases in other countries, which leads to a reduction in the share of China. So for the study period, the share of veneer sales in Malaysia increased from 5.5% to 7.5%, and in Indonesia from 3.4% to 6%. It should be noted that Malaysia and Indonesia are the largest countries in terms of veneer sales in the world after China.
BusinesStat estimates that in 2013-2017, veneer sales in the world will continue to grow. In 2017, sales will reach 12.9 million m3. The growth of sales of veneer will be promoted by the development of consumer industries - plywood, furniture and construction.
