Description
From 2010 to 2014, sales of silicones in the world increased by 11.5%, reaching 4.20 million tons in 2014. Each year, the figure showed an increase compared to previous years. The largest increase was observed in 2012 - by 3.9%, and the smallest - in 2014 (by 1.9%).
In 2010-2014, China was the leading sales country for silicones in the world, accounting for an average of 16.9% of total sales in all countries for the period. The second place in this indicator was occupied by the USA - 13.0% of all sales. In Germany in 2010-2014 about 10.9% of all silicones in the world were sold.
According to BusinesStat, in 2015-2019, sales of silicones will continue to grow by 2.2-3.0% annually. At the end of 2019, 4.77 million tons of this product will be sold worldwide, which will exceed the same figure in 2014 by 13.6%. The growth of the silicone market will be driven mainly by an increase in demand for materials, especially from companies engaged in the construction, plastics and chemical industries. Experts believe that these areas will stimulate an increase in the market for consumption of silicones in the coming years.
