The increase in fish and seafood production is mainly due to the development of fish farming. Fish farming is a rapidly growing industry, as no one can guarantee the constant quality of the caught, that is wild, fish. In 2011-2015, the global volume of growing fish and seafood increased by 24.5% and in 2015 amounted to 76.5 million tons.
