According to BusinesStat, the production of biogas in the world in 2011-2015 increased annually: growth over the period amounted to 48.7% or 359.3 petajoules. The largest increase over the previous year was observed in 2012 - 15.4%.

In 2016-2020, biogas production in the world will continue to grow annually against the background of the ongoing introduction of programs for the transition to alternative energy sources. In 2020, the volume of production will be 1,568.3 petajoules, which will be higher than the value of 2015 by 42.8% or 470.5 petajoules.
